Architectural Quilt Challenge at the Gibbs Gallery

This quilt was made in 1998 as a special challenge for the Cobblestone Quilters in Charleston South Carolina. The challenge was to collaborate with an Architect to design a quilt with an Architectural theme and construct the quilt from Architect's design. My Architect was Bryan Whitley, and he chose the Stained Glass window from the Circular Church on Meeting Street in Charleston. Elements of the architecture of the church were incorporated into the borders. This quilt and several others were part of a 3 week long exhibit at the Gibbs Art Gallery in Charleston. The name of the quilt is "Trinity Windows" and it is 36"x48" and part of a private collection.
